Daniel D. Worl, age 67, of Cambridge City, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Dayton Veterans Administration Hospital surrounded by his closest family.

Born May 11, 1948, to Lone and Ineta Worl, Dan lived his entire life in Cambridge City/Hagerstown area. A proud, life-long farmer, he was also a retired pipe-fitter at Visteon and a restaurant/lounge owner of Lakeview Restaurant, the Eagle's Nest, and Worl's Silver Dollar. His passion was his family, but he also enjoyed traveling, going out with his many friends, fishing, aviation, supporting his grandchildren in sports and activities and watching sci-fi movies. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Milton Masonic Lodge # 108, the Hagerstown Post 333 American Legion, and the Greens Fork AMVETS.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Ruthanna S. McFall Worl; daughter Heidi Jo (Robert) Wales; son Travis Dee (Andrew Jennings); grandchildren Hannah and Beau Wales; nephews Dan and Paul Worl; great-nieces Sara and Alexis, a great-nephew Josh, and two four-legged children, Grover and Goldie. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Worl; and his many, much loved dogs.

A gathering of friends will be Friday, January 15 from 3:30 to 7:30 pm, with a Masonic service at 7:30. A Memorial service with Military Honors will be on Saturday, January 16 at 10 am at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel. In lieu of flowers, gifts or memorials can be made to the Dayton VA, Lakeside Manor, Hagerstown VFW Post #333 or any veteran's organization.

Ruthanna, Heidi, Robb, Hannah, Beau, Travis and Andrew, words cannot express the sadness felt by our family when we learned of Danny's passing. He was a good husband, father, and friend having the BEST smile! He loved all of you including his extended family and many friends. He led a good life. You will be missed my friend, but family and friends can take comfort in knowing he's no longer in pain.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I was planning on coming to the visitation, but it seems my brother, Danny, will be having his funeral the same day in Richmond. God go with you.
