William Jennings Obituary
William “JB” Jennings, 65, of Union City, TN, passed away on October 16, 2014, after a brief illness. He was born to Evan and Stella (Workman) Jennings on October 20, 1948 in New Castle, IN. He was a 1967 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, IN and lived in the area until moving to Tennessee in 2000.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kathy Peden Jennings; ten children, Eric (Shawn) Jennings, Amy (Tim) Parks, Jeremy, Nathan, Jeb & Hannah Jennings, Kim (Robert) Robertson, Krista (Daryl) Burke, Karin (Don) Wilson and Travis Reynolds; 15 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; his dad, Evan M. Jennings; a sister, Sarah Jane (Jim) Robinson; a brother, Skip (Evey) Jennings; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Stella M. Jennings and a granddaughter, Kaitlynne Jennings.
JB was a Navy veteran, whose rank was Petty Officer 3rd Class and served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Union and recently retired, after 14 years with Goodyear Tire in Union City TN. JB was a member of Cambridge City American Legion Post #169 and VFW Post #4862 in Union City. He enjoyed NASCAR, football and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 until 5pm on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Funeral services will be at 10 am on Monday at the funeral home with calling 1 hr. prior to the the service. American Legion Post #169 will perform military honors at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, IN.
