Wendy Jo (Gwin) Cowan

Wendy Jo Cowan, 52, of New Castle, passed away at home on Tuesday October 14, 2025. She was born in Richmond on February 27, 1973 to Randy and Cheryl (Clevenger) Gwin. Wendy grew up in Cambridge City and was a 1991 graduate of Lincoln High School. She received her Associates Degree as a Nursing Assistant in 1993 and most recently worked at New Castle Family & Internal Medicine.

On March 12, 2001 she married Chris Cowan and together they have raised their family of 4 children. Wendy loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed watching her children’s sports and school activities and also enjoyed going to Fall festivals.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Chris Cowan; four children, Tyler, Michael, Abigail and Katee Cowan; her parents, Cheryl (Tim) Beatty and Randy (Rita Beth) Gwin; siblings, Bonnie (Dean) Drake, Jeff Gwin and Michelle Gwin; mother-in-law, Linda Cowan; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Friends may call from 4 until 7 PM on Tuesday October 21, 2025 and from 10 AM until the start of the Funeral Service at 11 AM on Wednesday October 22, 2025 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Burial will follow at Brick Cemetery in Hagerstown.
