Wanda A (Chapman) Carpenter

Wanda A. Carpenter, 84, of Cambridge City passed away on March 15, 2017 at her residence.

She was born on May 25, 1932 in Knightstown, IN to Harry E. and Rosetta Rice Chapman but lived most of her life in the Wayne County area. Wanda worked as a waitress at the Soda Shoppe and retired from Ann Ferriell Figure Salon in 2009. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and drinking coffee at Lumpy's and Hilltop with her “half-assed” friends.

Survivors include her daughter Jana Jo Carpenter; granddaughters Tamra (Matt) Davis and Jama Carpenter; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Christian and Greysen; great-granddogs Jersey and Hogan; siblings Al, Ed. Janet and Judy; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond E. Carpenter; sons Timothy and Dave Carpenter; siblings Bill, Gerald, and Louella.

Funeral services will be at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
