Vera J. (Enochs) Campbell

Vera J. Campbell, 90, of Cambridge City, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Addison Place in New Castle. She was born on July 2, 1935 in New Castle to Frank and Rose Enochs. Vera grew up in New Castle and was a 1953 graduate of New Castle High School. On January 8, 1955, she married Joseph “Jake” Campbell. They continued to live in New Castle and their young family eventually grew to have 6 children, in 1971 they moved to Cambridge City. Vera was a lab technician at Reid Hospital for many years and retired in 1997. She enjoyed being at home caring for her family, gardening and camping with Jake.

She is survived by her children, Jody (John) Younts, Jeffery (Christine Sipe) Campbell, Judy (James) Gerrian, Terri (Shawn) Neil, Toni (Lance) Kerney and Traci (Frank) Johnson; 17 grandchildren: 20 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Joseph “Jake” Campbell on January 24, 2017; her sister, Helen Weaver and brother, Leon Enochs.

Her funeral service will be private and she will be laid to rest next to her husband at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
