Sue Carol (Miller) Grimes

Sue Carol (Miller) Grimes, originally from Winchester, IN beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 87 in Charlotte, NC on July 20, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Marcile (Kelly) Miller and was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia (Miller) Whitecavage. Sue is survived by her husband of 66 years, Dan Grimes; daughter Deborah (Kirk) Hanley, daughter Valerie (Thomas) Richbourg, son Gregory (Lynne) Grimes, son Steven (Pamela) Grimes, and son Bradley (Stephanie) Grimes; niece Julia (Whitecavage) Salas; sister-in-law Nancy Grimes; nephews John and Michael. She was a loving grandmother to Christopher, Matthew, Michael, Andrew, Lindsay and Phillip, and great grandchildren Adelaide, Penelope, Beau and Lilly.

Sue was a graduate of Winchester High School and Indiana University. As a military spouse she moved 13 times across the US and Europe in 15 years before settling in the Northern Virginia area, gracefully making each location a home for her family. With Dan by her side, she always enjoyed the adventure of antiquing and the search for the next treasure.

Friends may call from 12 noon until the start of the funeral service at 1 PM on Saturday July 29, 2023 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City, Indiana.
