Ruby A (Lear) Newton

Ruby A. (Lear) Newton, 75, of Cambridge City passed away on Saturday, December, 10, 2016 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born on December 31, 1940 near Broadhead, Kentucky to Raymond and Ruth (Clark) Lear and was a graduate of Fountain City High School.

Ruby worked as an accounts payable clerk for American Water Company for 28 years before she retired. Ruby loved spending time with her family and was an avid reader.

Survivors include children Lisa (Jeff) Gaskill of Leo, IN and Doug (girlfriend Carrie) Newton of Parker City, IN; grandchildren Chad, Danielle, Cory, Jesse and Chase; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister Barbara Holland; brother Dan (Tonna) Lear; nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Donald L. Newton.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Danny Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
