Roy Vandivier, 80, of Milton, passed away at home on Wednesday May 1, 2024. He was born in Rushville, Indiana on November 2, 1943 to Robert H. and Helen A. (Lawson) Vandivier. Roy grew up in Milton, graduating from Milton High School in 1961 and later earned his Associates Degree from IU East. He married Cathy W. Clugston on April 2, 1965. He began work at Lee Cylinder and then worked as a machinist at Roots Blower for over 40 years.
Roy enjoyed gardening, genealogy, loved bowling, golf, fishing and stamp collecting. He was an avid IU fan! Roy was a member of Milton United Methodist Church. He was an avid collector and restorer of windmills and he was a member of the International Windmiller's Association. He and Cathy traveled all around the country attending trade shows in Texas, Minnesota, Illinois and several other states. Roy loved to spend time with his family and particularly liked to vacation in Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cathy Clugston Vandivier; three children, Bridget Andrew, Matthew (Sherry) Vandivier and Alyca (Blair) Canady; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, George Cameron and Bill (Linda) Vandivier; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by two grandsons, Isiah and Zackariah Andrew and his sister, Kay Shook.
Friends may call from 11 AM until the start of the funeral service at 1 PM on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City, Indiana. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery in Milton, Indiana.
