Rosalie D. DuGranrut

Rosalie DuGranrut, 100, of Milton, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 in Warsaw, Indiana. She was born on February, 1, 1925 in Francisco, Indiana to Otho and Rose (McMillan) Mans. Rosalie graduated from Francisco High School in 1943 and then received her Bachelors degree in 1947 from Indiana State Teachers College. She taught for a couple of years and on August 13, 1949, she married Herman H. DuGranrut and soon after they moved to Milton, Indiana to start their family.

They became active members of Milton Christian Church. Rosalie played the piano and organ, sang and directed the choir and was the treasurer for over 20 years. She volunteered at the Cambridge City Library, was President of the library board for many years, including during the transition to the library’s current location. She returned to teaching after being a stay at home Mom while her children were growing up, first at Bentonville School and Fayette Middle School. She later developed Creative CGYP at Central School in Cambridge City. Rosalie was also an auxiliary member of Gideons International.

Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Rose Ann (Tim) McCammon; her son, Jim (Mary) DuGranrut; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Herman on March 18, 1997 and her brother, David Mans.

Friends may call from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City.  And from 2:30 PM until the start of her funeral at 3 PM on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Milton Christian Church. Burial will follow at Westside Cemetery in Milton.
