Norman S. Bond, 84, of Cambridge City, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. He was born in New Castle, on December 6, 1929 to Fred and Ruth (Bertsch) Bond.
Norman attended Purdue University for one year and then returned home to work on the family farm. He married Mildred Davenport, known as “Midge” on October 29, 1950. His life continued as he worked and retired from a family business at Bertsch & Company in Cambridge City. After retiring he began helping Midge at her dress shop, Harriet's in Richmond. They loved to go to Sanibel Island, Florida where they spent many wonderful years.
Survivors include his four children Kathy, Scott, Mark and Nancy; five grandchildren; eight, soon to be nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 46 years, Midge and brother, Richard Wonsetler.
Visitation will be at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on Sunday, June 29, 2014 between the hours of 1:00 until 4:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 10:00 am at Waskom's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4567 Progress Dr., Columbus, IN 47201
