Miriam D. (DeArmond) Caldwell

Miriam DeArmond Caldwell, 96, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2014 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN.

She was born on April 6, 1918 to Claude and Edith (Clawson) DeArmond in Wayne County, IN and lived there all her life.

She was employed at Lane Finance Company, Cambridge City, IN and the Bentonville State Bank, Bentonville, IN from where she retired. She also served as trustee for Washington Township. She was a member of the Milton Christian Church in Milton, IN.

Miriam and her husband, Jim, lived on the family farm near Connersville, IN where she loved to cook, garden and entertain family and friends. After leaving the farm, she spent the next twelve years at Friends Fellowship Community in Richmond, IN.

Survivors include a son, Rodney (Karen) Caldwell of Fishers, IN; two granddaughters, Sherry (Jon) Ohl and Krista (Kenny) Keeton; two great grandsons, Connor and Levi Ohl, all of Indianapolis, IN. Six nieces and nephews plus several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James (Jim) Caldwell, two sons, Stephen and Sidney, one infant grandson, three sisters, Marjorie (Richard) Corbett, Frances (Sam) Kelley, Mildred (Roger) Thomas, a brother, Donald DeArmond and two nieces.

Friends may gather at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City, IN on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 11:30 AM until start of services at 1:00 PM. Rev. Tom Cici will be officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Grove Cemetery, Milton, IN.
