Mildred Allen Obituary

Mildred L. Allen, 99, of Cambridge City passed away on Sunday December 8, 2019. She was born on January 19, 1920 in Rush County to Harvey and LaVon Reed.

Mildred was most known for working for Dr. Kenyon and at Brunner’s Drug Store. In her leisure time she enjoyed making ceramics and working on crossword puzzles. Mildred was also known for her love of her family. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. She will be dearly missed by her great grandchildren Tyler Allen, Daniel Allen, Braxton Phenis, Grady Phenis, Remington Phenis, Briar Allen, Makenna Allen, Avery Allen, Jayla Payne, Wyatt Payne and Leelynn Allen. Mildred is also survived by her son, Bruce E. Allen; grandsons, Chad (Michelle) Allen, Brian Allen; her sister, Norma Smith; and nephew, Terry (Mary) Smith.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles M. Allen; son, Blake L. Allen; her parents; brothers, Alfred Reed and Red Reed; brother-in-law Gordon Smith and nephew, Gary Smith.

 

Friends may call from 12 noon until the start of her service at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Gordon Mehaffey will be officiating. Entombment will follow at Earlham Cemetery.
