Matthew J Berry

Matthew “Matt” Berry, age 43, of Richmond, died on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was born in Union City, Indiana on December 19, 1979 to Kenneth and Debra (Grubbs) Berry. He was a lifelong resident of Indiana and attended Northeastern High School. He formerly worked as a cement finisher, machinist and most recently as a carpenter and helper with his lifelong best friend, Ryan Coffey of RL Construction. Matt was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and a Bengals fan. He loved sports and was a long-time softball coach in the Richmond community.

Survivors include his mother, Debbie Berry; son, Blake (McKayla) Berry; daughter, Madison Berry; sister, Tabbath (Ted) Seger; grandsons, Jude Baker and Elias McDaniel; nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of many friends who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his father, Ken Berry and brother, Kenny, Jr.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until the start of the memorial service and celebration of life at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Oak Park Church, 1920 Chester Blvd., Richmond, Indiana with Rev. Kevin Arthur officiating. Private graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
