Marilyn Bowman Obituary

Marilyn Jean Bowman, 73, of Cambridge City passed away at Reid Health on Friday, August 21, 2015. She was born on May 22, 1942 in Wayne County, IN to John E. and Lillie L. Bulmar Vallandingham and had lived most of her life in the Wayne Caounty area.

 

Marilyn was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School and was a bus driver for 15 years for the school. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Cambridge City.

Marilyn and her husband were foster parents to many children from 1975 til 1985.

 

Survivors include a son Alan D. (Lyn) Bowman of Cambridge City; 4 grandchildren Amanda K. (John) Hensley-Call, Travis Jump, Chelsey and Jacob Bowman; 1 greatgranddaughter Kyndal Snider; a sister Mary Lee (Russ) Blackburn; and 2 brothers Jack (Jean) Vallandingham and James Vallandingham.

 

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard J. Bowman in 2012 and a daughter Barbara Jean Bowman in 2005.

 

Friends may call from 11:00 am until start of services at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Rev. Jeff Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Cambridge City.
