Lucille Marie (Pflum) Heck

Lucille Heck, age 84, of Cambridge City passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Reid Hospital. She was born in Connersville, Indiana on January 7, 1930 to Joe and Ann (Yohler) Pflum. Lucille graduated from Connersville High School in 1947. She went to Beauty School in Indianapolis and remained a licensed beautician most of her adult life. Lucille was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Women of the Moose and Women of the Eagles. She was the owner of Fox's Den Tavern in Brookville. Lucille was very active in the Fayette Co. Free Fair – she organized the 1^st Queen Contest and also started the Pet & Hobby. She enjoyed working with the family on the farm.

Lucille is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leland Ray Heck; children, Leann (Bill) Cochran, Mary Jo (Tim) Close and Kenneth Ray Heck; grandchildren, Jennifer (Erick) Garrison, Jeanette Hensley, Brent (Katie) Close, Dustin (Hillary) Close; great-grandchildren Luke and Keegan Garrison, Claire, Olivia and Wiley Close, Henry and Harper Close; brothers, KJ (Peggy) Pflum and James Pflum; sister Virginia Myers; nieces, nephews and friends.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Nathan Close on Oct. 5, 1997; a sister and her husband, Catherine and Larry Risch; sister-in-law, Ruth Pflum and brother-in-law George Myers.

Friends may call on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2:00 until 6:00 pm and a Scripture Service will be held at 1:30 pm at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
