Larry W. Williams, age 80, of Pershing, Indiana passed away on Friday October 17, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on March 23, 1945 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa to Denver M. And Minnie Ruth (Rahly) Williams. Larry served in the U.S. Army for just over 10 years, his service taking him to Germany, Vietnam, Maryland, and California, eventually retiring as an SP6. Following his time in the U.S. Army, Larry cared for the Williams family farm, tending to the fields and livestock. Ever industrious, he also worked at Batey Saw Mill, where he invented a hydraulic log splitter, and later at Monsanto. Larry loved to travel, no drive ever too long. He also collected carnival glass, proudly displaying his collection throughout his home. Larry was generous with his time and skills, always ready to help friends and family with any project in need of an extra hand. Above all, Larry was an ornery character, bringing laughter and liveliness to any gathering with his antics. On May 2, 2003 he married his wife Connie and moved from Iowa to Pershing, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Connie (Tucker) Williams; his children, Michael (Scarlett Ballard) Williams, Andrew (Kelly Murphy) Williams and James (Becky) Spaulding; and 6 grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Rae Anne Spaulding.
Friends may call from 10 am until the start of the Funeral service at 11 am on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel and burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, both in Cambridge City, Indiana
