L. Scharlene Mahoney, aged 92, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at Parker Health and Rehab in Parker City after a brief illness.
She was born on June 3,1932 to Charles and Edna Nott Farr of Greens Fork and lived all her life in the Hagerstown area.
She was a 1959 graduate of Hagerstown High School and was a retired License Practical Nurse. She worked several years for Dr. Hollenberg in Hagerstown, as a factory nurse for Dana and at Reid Hospital in Richmond.
She was a member of the New Testament Church of Christ and The Hagerstown Lions Club. She was named the two thousand Good Friend & Neighbor. She loved being involved in the community and volunteering.
Survivors include her children Bill Mahoney and Karen (Victor) Malloy, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mahoney, son, Ralph Mahoney, all twenty of her brothers and sisters, and a few nieces and nephews, whom she missed dearly.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30th, 2024, at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Paul Gerhardt will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
