Kathy Jennings Obituary

Kathy L. Jennings, 72, of Union City, TN, passed away on July 8, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born on July 9, 1948, in Greenville, OH. She was a 1967 graduate of Union High School in Modoc, IN and lived in the surrounding area until moving to Tennessee in 2000.

She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Rob) Robertson, Krista (Daryl) Burke, Karin (Don) Wilson, Travis Reynolds, Eric (Shawn) Jennings, Amy (Tim) Parks, Jeremy, Nathan, Jeb, and Hannah Jennings, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters; Rose (Kurt) Whitesel of Lynn, IN, Sharon (Ken) Crawford, Brenda (Donnie) Carter, both of Mountain Home, Arkansas, a sister-in-law, Linda Banning of Piggot, Arkansas, and 1 brother, Mike (Linda) Peden of Union City, IN, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “J.B.” Jennings, her dad, Ray B. Peden, her biological father, Henry Lamar Banning, her mother, Wanda (Farr) Peden, her sister, Connie Morrison, 2 brothers, Willie and Henry Banning and her granddaughter, Kaitlynne Jennings.

Kathy worked for Ingram Barge Company as a cook and retired in 2013. She attended Ball State University where she majored in English. She was a published author of Historical and Contemporary Romance and a member of the Romance Writers of America. She was a life member and past Auxiliary President of both the Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4862, in Union City, TN and of the Cambridge City American Legion Post #169. Her hobbies included reading, writing, singing karaoke, playing cards, watching KC Chiefs football, watching Nascar, she was a huge Mark Martin fan, and traveling.

Funeral services will be held at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on Saturday, July 17,2021, at 12:00 p.m. with calling for friends and family at 11:00 a.m., 1 hr prior to the service. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4862 in Union City, TN or the American Legion Post #169 in Cambridge City, IN
