Karla Jo (Schenkel) Abercrombie

Karla Jo Schenkel Abercombie, 71, of Milton passed away at home on Thursday, December 8, 2022. She was born on April 15, 1951 in New Castle, IN to Eugene & B. Beth (Jones) Schenkel.

Karla served as trustee of Posey Twp. for 19 years. She was member of the Posey Home-Ec Club. She retired from ITD Engineering as a office manager, doing all accounting & payroll. Karla also worked for Golay & Co., MEG, Spartech Plastics, Stonehenge Concrete & Gravel and Innovative Tool & Design.

Survivors include a son, Scott A. (Angie) Schenkel; 2 sisters, Karen (Steve) McFarland and Kristina (Floyd) Piles; 2 granddaughters, Lindsey Schenkel Voiles and Megan Wissinger Ballance; 2 great-grandsons, Bentley George and Klayton Wessinger; a niece, Amy (Tim) Parks; 2 nephews, John Eric (Shawn) Jennings and Bryan Piles; a great niece, Katey Jennings; 5 great nephews, Casey (Kylie) Jennings, Tyler, Travis (Emerald), Trevor, and Tanner Parks; great great nieces, Lennon & Emelia; aunt Maria Jones: sister-in-laws, Becky Grubb & Mary Fields and brother-in-law, Melvin Abercrombie.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, of 10 years, Raymond (JR) Abercrombie on August 9, 2004. They were married in Tennessee on September 3, 1993.  And also her uncle Robert L. Jones. 

Friends may call at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 1:00 pm until the start of the funeral at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow at Westside Cemetery in Milton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Milton Christian Church or the Bentonville Volunteer Fire Dept.
