John W. Hart Obituary

John W. (Jack) Hart, 94, of Milton, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Reid Hospital. The son of Murray and Alcy (Hamm) Hart, he was born on July 4, 1920. Jack grew up in Randolph County and was a graduate of Winchester High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Jack received his Bachelor's degree from Purdue University and received his EdD from Ball State University in 1980. Jack worked for many years as a conservationist for the Soil and Water Conservation Service here in Wayne County. He enjoyed spending time at his country home, enviromental education and also worked at the Hayes Arboretum and Indiana University East.

 

Jack is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann Morse of Milton; a son Robert of Arlington, MA and two grandsons, Michael and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary M. (Sims) Hart on January 29, 2013.

 

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to S.P.U.R. (Society for the Preservation and use of Resources), 4910 Shoemaker Rd., Centerville, IN 47330.
