John A. Longnecker

John A. Longnecker, 71, of Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday January 1, 2025 at home.

He was born on March 2, 1953 in New Castle, Indiana to James E. and Ruby (Rudisell) Longnecker.

John lived his entire life in this area and was a 1973 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City. He worked for several different companies during his life and then retired from Autocar Trucks in Hagerstown. John was a Christian. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working on cars and believed in Family, Friends and Faith.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lisa Mae (Harris) Longnecker, whom he married on March 27, 2009; his children, Brandi Bowne, Shawn Longnecker, Christopher Longnecker and Alan (Lyndsy) Storer; six grandchildren; siblings, Christal Henderson, Linda Cline, James Longnecker, William (Janice) Longnecker and Thomas (Donna) Longnecker; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Longnecker, Robert Longnecker, Cassie Lynch and Nancy Longnecker.

Friends may call from 3 PM until the start of the funeral service at 4 PM on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Interment will be private at Brick cemetery in Hagerstown.
