Jerome “Jerry” Blaine Marlatt of Hagerstown, Indiana passed away on October 26, 2021 at the age of 81. He lived his life in Hagerstown and was the son of Howard and Grace (Lux) Marlatt. He attended Marmion Military Academy in Aurora IL for grades 9-11. He returned to Hagerstown for his senior year and graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1958. After high school, he joined the Air Force serving four years as a crew chief in both the Philippines and Vietnam. Upon returning home from the military, he met and married the love of his life Jane (Maurer) Marlatt and together they started their family. He was the loving father of two sons and the proud grandfather of three grandchildren. He started his career with Perfect Circle in Hagerstown which later became Dana Corporation. He worked for them as Quality Engineer for 35 years before retiring in 1997. He continued to do independent consulting for several years following his retirement. Jerry had an adventurous spirit and loved trying new things. Among his many adventures was sailing in the summertime. He sailed in Michigan and once sailed around the British Virgin Islands. It is given to those who do not seek it. He was a talented handyman and there wasn’t much he couldn’t do. His hobbies included working in his yard, woodworking (where he made boat parts, birdhouses, and many other projects), spending time with his family and hopping in the car with his wife Jane in search of a new adventure.
