Jeannie Ilene (Barnes) York

Jeannie I. York, 68, of Centerville joined her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

Born Jeannie Ilene Barnes on September 17, 1947 in Richmond, IN to the late Edward “Bud” and Alma (Cooper) Barnes, she lived most of her life in the Wayne County Area. Jeannie married the love of her life Thomas F. York, Sr. on October 1, 1965.

Survivors aside from her husband include: Marcie “Franny Danny” (Jamie) Moore of Centerville, Tommy “Bomberhead” (Shawna) York of Cambridge City and Sarah “Berryhead” (Nathan) Fields of Pershing; six grandchildren: Sierra, James, Sasha (Adam), Ryland, Elijah and Samuel; one great-grandson Hunter; brothers Edward “Buddy”

(Beth) Barnes of Brownsburg, Lonnie (Vickie) Barnes of Coldsprings, KY, the late Gary (Jackie) Barnes of Greenfield and Rick Barnes of Richmond. She leaves behind her very special family friend Debbie Gray of Richmond.

Jeannie was able to stay home for awhile longer with the help of her caretakers who became family: Michelle (Allen) Taresh of Centerville and Ambra Schultz of Richmond.

Friends may gather from 12:00 noon until start of services at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City, IN. Rev. Doug Wheeler will be officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksonburg Cemetery.
