Janet L. (Chapman) McCord

Janet L. (Chapman) McCord, 79, of Cambridge City passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at her home.

She was born in Knightstown, IN on October 14, 1938 to Harry E. and Rosetta Rice Chapman and had lived most of her life in the Wayne County Area. Janet had attended Lincoln High School and Cambridge City First Baptist. Her biggest enjoyment was her family and watching the NBA. Her favorite players are Kobe Bryant and Lebron James.

Survivors include 3 children Charles E. McCord, Cynthia McCord and Jennifer Smith; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; brothers Al and Ed Chapman and sister Judy Kay; her best friend Carol Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by siblings Gerald, Bill, Louella and Wanda; and 1 great-granddaughter Jenna Leighann.

Friends may call at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 10:00 am until start of services at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
