Ethel I (Hamlin) Jones

Ethel I. Jones, age 89, of Cambridge City, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at The Hearth at Stones Crossing in Greenwood, Indiana. She was born on April 22, 1926 in Carlisle, Indiana to Gaylord and Bertha (Eskew) Hamlin. Ethel grew up in New Castle and then lived most of her life in Cambridge City. She worked at The Soda Shop with her sisters and worked many years at Red Wing Shoe Store. Ethel enjoyed playing bingo.

Ethel is survived by her daughter Debra S. Lemmons; her son, Chad Jones; two grandchildren, Ashley Painter and Skyler Jones; two great-granddaughters; a sister, Mary Lee Bowman; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Mildred “Mick” Davis and Evelyn “Skip” LeHunt; 2 brothers, Baby Hamlin and Benjamin Hamlin.

Friends may call from 11 am until the start of the funeral service at 1 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
