Ernestine (Witt) Newton

Ernestine Newton, 90, of Cambridge City passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Reid Health in Richmond.

She was born in Connersville on July 20, 1929 to Lloyd and Mattie Begley Witt and had lived in the Connersville and Cambridge City areas. She married her husband Herbert on December 7, 1950 and spent 53 years together. She was a member of New Heights Church of Christ in Connersville.

Survivors include sons, Kenneth (Karen) Newton and James (Lori Osborn)Newton; grandchildren Rachel (Bryan) Williams, Kimberly (Tom) Roberts, Crystal (Jonathan) Allen, Brianna (Dugan) Wetzel, James (Jessica) Newton, Justin Newton, Julia (Eric Bottoms) Newton and Sara (Jen) Eicher-Newton; 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a brother Bill (Dorothy) Witt; nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Newton on May 14, 2004, a son Gary Newton and siblings Geneivieve (Sam) Mooreland and Jack Witt.

Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family with burial to follow in Dale Cemetery in Connersville. Danny Berry will will be officiating.
