Donald L. Newton

Donald L. Newton, 77, of Cambridge City passed away on Sunday, February, 15, 2015 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. He was born on July 27, 1937 in Rector, Arkansas to Jasper and Blanche Hilton Newton and was a graduate of Lincoln High School

Don owned and operated his own construction company and the worked as a foreman for J. S. Sweet Construction until he retired. He is a member of Cambridge Lodge #5 F&AM. Don loved spending time with his family and being in the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years Ruby A. Newton; children Lisa (Jeff) Gaskill of Leo, IN and Doug (girl friend Carrie) of Parker City, IN; grandchildren Chad, Danielle, Cory, Jesse and Chase; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Romana Davison; 2 brothers Robert (Ann) Newton and Dennis Newton; nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Charles and Gary Newton.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 20. 2015 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Danny Berry officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. There will be a Masonic service at 7:45 PM.
