Charles Edward Melton

Charles Edward Melton, 58, of Richmond passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Reid Hospital and Health Care Services.

Ed was born on August 18, 1956 in Albany, KY to Collis and Lillian Christian Melton. He was a 1975 graduate of Lincoln High School and had worked at Belden Wire for 35 years retiring in 2012. He was a member of Druids, NRA, American Fishing Organization, American Legion Post #65 and Belden 25 year club. He was also a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors include his wife Cindy J. Turner Melton; children Michelle (Louay) Alkhatib, Angela Melton, and Jennifer (Chris) Pate; 3 step-sons Paul, Chris and Mark; 14 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marta Taylor and a grandson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July, 14, 2015 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery in Dublin. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Monday, July 13, 2015.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney or Cancer Association.
