Carl H. Sourbeer

Carl H. Sourbeer, 83, of Pershing, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Reid Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1932 to Park B. and Martha (Geathers) Sourbeer in Germantown, Indiana.

Carl was a 1950 graduate of Lincoln High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. He worked as a carpenter and retired from Smarelli Construction in Richmond.

Carl was a member of the Carpenter's Union. He enjoyed spending time at home with his family, working in the garden and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lena (Spiteri) Sourbeer; two sons, Jim (Kyla Abrams) Sourbeer of Cambridge City and Jeff (Dawn Schrimpf) Sourbeer of Pershing; six grandchildren Dustin Sourbeer, Krystal Rogers, Ashley Sourbeer, Braelyn Sourbeer, Kanasta Johnson and Allason Keihn; and five great-grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John; a grandson, Leif; a great-great-granddaughter, Isabelle Ann Gaddis and his brother, Paul.

Friends may call from 4:00 pm until the start of services at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City.

Father John Luerman will be officiating.
