Bernice Coddington Obituary

Bernice R. Coddington, 90, formerly of Cambridge City, passed away at her home in Speedway, IN on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. She was born on January 14, 1926 in Franklin County, IN to Henry and Mary (Reiboldt) Rusterholz. Bernice graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944 and was married to Thomas H. Coddington on April 14, 1949.

 

Bernice had worked for the United States Postal Service, Mills Furniture, Dr. C. N. Irvin, Cox Floor Covering and Dr. Emil Kenyon. She had been a member of Cambridge City United Methodist Church for many years.

 

Bernice is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Doug & Karen Coddington of Mooresville; four grandchildren, Ryan (Judi) Coddington, Darryn (Kayla) Coddington, Monica (Chris) Wright and Shelly Flynn; 4 great-grandchildren, Kayden, Hanna, Camron and Drew; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom in 1966; a son, Dana Neil in 1987, a grandson Jamie Neil in 2007; brothers, Fred and Neil and a sister Jeanne.

 

Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, February 22 and the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 23 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel with Pastor Todd Barnhizer officiating. Burial will follow in Zion's Lutheran Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
