Allen Tarter “Brownie” Brown, 88 , of Milton passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Reid Hospital and Health Care Services in Richmond.

He was born on March 28, 1924 in Albany, KY to Austin Goodlow and Lona (Tarter) Brown and graduated from Milton High School in 1943.

He had lived most of his life in the Milton area and served in WW II in the Okinawa Campaign. He was retired from Dana Corporation after 21 years as a maintenance supervisor .

Survivors are his loving wife of 65 years Artie Cate Brown; daughter Linda (Byron) Kinsinger of Cambridge City; grandchildren Danny (Tami) Hall of Milton, Jason (Pam) Hall of Cambridge City, and Leslie (Travis) Steele of Milton; great-grandchildren Lacy, Haley, Hannah, and Zach Hall and Sidney and Morgan Steele; nephews Larry (Pat) Whitton and their sons Kevin and Michael, and Paul (Theresa) Whitton and their son Jesse.

Friends may gather at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from noon until start of services at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in Westside Cemetery in Milton.
