Alice M. (Gillman) Mitchem

Alice M. Mitchem, 98, of Cambridge City passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Reid Health in Richmond.

She ws born on December 8, 1918 in New Castle to Clifford and Myrtle Ring Gillman and was raised by Elsworth and Hattie Darling. Alice had lived all of her life in the Henry and Wayne County area and had worked at Stop 1 and Lakeview restaurants.

Survivors include her children Dorothy Mullin, Frances Pickett, Gloria (Marion) Pickett, Frank (Mickie) Moffitt, Alta Roach and Susie Moffitt; 34 grandchildren, 89 great-grandchildren and 65 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Morton Moffitt; second husband James Mitchem; children Roy, Paul and Joe Moffitt; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; siblings Don and Bob Darling, Paul, Lucille and Nellie Gillman.

Friends may gather on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 11:00 am until start of services at 1:00 pm at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City where Gary Isaacs will be officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
