Obituary

Alan D. Bowman, 60, of Cambridge City, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at his home.

He was born in New Castle on October 24, 1961 to Howard J., and Marilyn J. (Vallandingham) Bowman and lived his entire life in this area. Alan, or “Big Al” as his friends called him, graduated from Lincoln High School in 1980. He owned and operated his own trucking firm as a long haul driver. Alan had a very selfless personality, always putting other’s needs ahead of his own.

 

Survivors include his son, Jacob A. (Jayden) Bowman; daughter, Chelsey R. Bowman; grandchildren, Kyndal, Kaitlyn and Ava.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Lyn M. (Gibson) Bowman, who passed away on September 14, 2015; and his sister Barbara Bowman.

 

Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the start the Funeral at 1:00 PM, on Monday July 11, 2022 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Steve Cox will be officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
