He joined his father at Wayne Trust Company in Cambridge City in 1956, becoming the fifth generation of the family owned business. Serving the community through successful and secure banking was his passion in life. He maintained his daily work routine at the bank remaining fully involved until his sudden death. Mr. Boyd valued and respected the trusted relationships and friendships of his employees and their commitment to the bank.

Hernly’s legacy includes his vast financial wisdom, unquenchable thirst for knowledge, love of family, the great pleasure found in his many life long friends, and unwavering love of this great nation.

When Lon wasn’t at the bank or traveling with his wife, he found no greater pleasure than playing a round of golf. As the great provider and teacher, Dad found great joy in sharing the gift of travel with his daughters and their families, including a recent 80th birthday celebration cruise.

(Leo) Scrougham of Brownsburg, IN; and Bonnie (Greg) Kruckenberg of Middleton, WI; stepchildren Cyndi (Kevin) Dukes of Franklin, IN; Randy (Beverly) Shedd of Elliotsville, IN; six grandsons: Matthew, Eric, Samuel, Nicholas, Kevin and Mark; sister Elizabeth (Tom) Graffis of Greencastle, IN; and nieces.
