Susanne Lamb Suttles, 83, of Cambridge City, Indiana passed away on Tuesday April 9 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.
Susanne was born in Rushville, IN on January 17, 1941 to the late Rodger Lamb and Anna Louise (Grist) Lamb. She graduated as a Milton Sharpshooter in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Pearl “Shorty” Suttles on July 5, 1959 at Milton Christian Church in Indiana. Susan was happy being a farmers wife and homemaker, she did work a few part time jobs which included Dolls Market in Dublin and Cutshaws Market in Cambridge City. Her greatest joy was being around her family and especially helping with the grandchildren throughout the years.
Susanne also enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University men’s basketball. She enjoyed a good word search puzzle and reading her cookbook collection. She attended church on a regular basis and loved reading her bible.
In addition to her parents, Susanne is preceded in death by a son, Charles Suttles, her brother, Carl Lamb and sisters, Louanna Dishman and Bonnie Jordan.
Susanne is survived by her husband of 65 years, Shorty Suttles (Cambridge City); her son, Michael (Janet) Suttles (Connersville); daughter Brenda (Nate) Lawless (Dublin), daughter-in-law, Karla Suttles; along with sister, Jeanenne Kimble. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory three grandsons: Brandon Suttles, Daniel (Jennifer) Suttles, Tyler Stegner and granddaughter, Chelsea (Caleb) McClain, along with several nieces and nephews. She also held the title of “second mom” to Denise Willmann Smith.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the start of her funeral service at 1:00 PM on Saturday April 13, 2024 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
