Barbara Ann (Hobbs) Short

Barbara Short, age 86, of Economy died at her home on Tuesday December 19, 2023. She was born in Greens Fork, IN on December 10, 1937 to F. Stickley and Thelma P. (Turner) Hobbs. Barbara graduated from Economy High School in 1955 and has lived in this area her entire life. She was a bookkeeper most of her life, retiring from Harvest Land Co-op in 2000. Barbara was a member of Sugar Grove Community Church, The Emmaus Community, BSF and Eastern Star.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Vernon K. Short on March 19, 2019;

her mother and father; brother Donald Hobbs; sister, Phyllis (Hobbs) Marlatt and grandparents.

Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth Reagan and Sharon (Duane) Brooks of Economy; her son, Jeffrey of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Tasha (Brandon Moore) Reagan, Kyle Reagan, Keith Foster and Sarah (Stuart MacDonald) Foster; four great-grandchildren, Bryce & Kallie Reagan,Creedance & Hope Reagan; nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 12 noon until the start of the Funeral at 1 PM on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Sugar Grove Community Church in Greens Fork, IN and her interment will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery. Her arrangements are entrusted to Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel of Cambridge City, IN.
