Evelyn “Doris” Baker, nee St. John, 77, of Cambridge City passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her residence.
She was born on July 3, 1935 in Jackson County, KY to Robert and Estelle Howard St. John and had lived most of her life in the area.
Survivors include three children Linda K. Widau, Larry (Cindy) Cruse and Darlene (Steve) Delaney; seven grandchildren Michelle (Robert) Vondera, Angela (James) Elder, John “J.R.” (Michelle) Cruse, Orilla (friend Phillip) Cruse, Tony (Tricia) Bruns, Evelyn D. (friend Dennis) Delaney and Justen Delaney, eight great-grandchildren; brothers Lloyd (Gloria) St. John, Wm. Dearl (Barbara) St. John; sisters Edith (Harold) Stone, Joyce (Bobby Gene) McPherson; sister-in-law Betty St. John; nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Baker; three brothers Melvin, Jerry, and Wayne St. John; and a sister Barbara J. and her husband John Maklem.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, July, 9, 2012 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Rev. Owen Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Westside Cemetery in Milton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 8, 2012.
