Raymond J. Hawkins, Sr., age 56, of Indianapolis and formerly of Cambridge City, passed away on Sunday December 9, 2012 at Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Wayne County on August 26, 1956 to Henry B. and Barbara J. (Cain) Hawkins.
Raymond grew up in Cambridge City and attended Lincoln High School and lived most of his life in this area. He had worked for Mosey Manufacturing in Richmond and had a passion for his job as a machinist. Ray enjoyed working on cars & trucks, doing both mechanical and body work.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond, Jr and Alan Hawkins, both of Indianapolis; his mother, Barbara J. Hawkins of Lexington, KY; three brothers, Jimmy, Curt and Morgan Hawkins; two sisters, Nancy McFarland and Cindy Cook; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 1:30 PM at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel with Danny Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in Dublin. Friends may calling at the funeral home at 12:30 PM until the start of the service.
